September 15-19, 2016
RAI-Convention centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands
IBC is the leading global tradeshow for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of broadcasting media and entertainment. The event’s unparalleled exhibition and agenda setting conference encompass the very latest developments in broadcasting, mobile TV, IPTV, digital signage and R&D making it essential for everyone’s understanding of the industry and its future.
At the beginning of September each year, 70’000 television professionals, video and digital film specialists and TV managers meet at Amsterdam RAI for the annual IBC Exhibition of equipment and IBC Conference about the new trends, business ideas and technology solutions. IBC is an important event growing each year as the importance of its field expands, connecting into the technology of film from one side and into the computers engineering from the other.
Virtual reality was a big topic in 2017. Marta Ledgard, Head of Exhibition and Sponsorships had over 57 face to face meetings with the key players in VR – technological firms as well as broadcasters and production companies.
Marta established direct contacts, we discussed their marketing needs and expectations and established way forward in order to bring them to WVRF as exhibitors.
The time at IBC was extremely productive because of the industry representatives concentration. Since we are preparing only first edition of the trade exhibition at WVRF all contacts have to be established from nothing. Without IBC, it would have taken a considerably longer time and travel budget to do so. I also managed to successfully ‘advertise’ WVRF to IBC participants and speakers when for example several start-ups and educational institutions learned about the forum and are now interested to come as visitors.
