Beijing VR Film Festival November 24-26, 2017 – Beijing, China

2017 Beijing VR Film Festival (2017 BVRFF) is one of the highlights of 2017 China International Creative Culture and Entertainment Industry Summit and “Belt & Road”Virtual Reality Forum(2017 I.C.E. Summit). It is the first grand gathering of VR films in China and was held in Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center (Beijing) during November 24-26, 2017

The venue of 2017 BVRFF is divided into four parts according to the themes of the films and there are Best Cinematic VR Award, Best VR Animation Award, Best Artistic VR Award, Best Narrative VR Award and Best VR Entertainment Award elected by a professional jury and the public.

Aimed to bring more real and immersive experiences to film viewers, 2017 BVRFF presents an integration of VR technology with film industry,  which is not only a breakthrough in technology but also an innovation in the film industry. It is a VR film festival with new forms, new ideas and new experience and will promote VR films to a new level.

Alexandro volunteers for an experiment carried out to study dreams. He doesn’t even imagine that he’s going to be subjected to the intrusion of Elsa, a form of Artificial Intelligence, who’s going to digitize and dematerialize his subconscious in order to feed off it.

THE DREAM COLLECTOR – THE PINTA STUDIOS (CN)

An old man and his playful dog live together in a garbage dump, where they spend their days sorting through the trash left behind by others. The objects – a broken guitar, a torn basebell glove, a deflated soccer ball – are he remnants of people’s abandoned dreams. Determined to bring these dreams back to life, the man tinkers away, carefully mending each piece of “garbage” until he can re-gift it to someone who will cherish it.

HANAHANA – MÉLODIE MOUSSET (CH)

The virtual world HanaHana, takes place under the burning sun, in a sort of post-apocaliptic sand box, with a red lake and remains of monumental anthropomorphic ruins. The user has no skin, molecules from that aftermath blood-soup are swarmings where his physical body take place in the physical world. The user has the capacity to sprout hands and chain-like hands in hands, and build his world.

DISPATCH – HERE BY DRAGON (USA)

Dispatch is a 4-episode VR miniseries for the Oculus Rift and GearVR that follows a small-town police dispatcher (Martin Starr) as he faces one of the greatest challenges of his career during an all-night crime spree.

SUPER HOT VR – SUPERHOT STUDIO (PL)

Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, SUPERHOT is the FPS in which time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.
