Clayton Doherty has worked in professional and educational theatre for the last 35 years. He has been a Producer/Consultant and an Actor-Director for Simon & Schuster – Paramount Pictures where his ESL project won “Top Honors in Education” at the San Jose Film Festival. His CV includes work in Education, Development and as an Artistic Director: from directing Inupik Eskimo’s in the Arctic Circle or the Yupik Indians in Alaska, to producing the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival in Nevada.
Clayton has produced theatre festivals from 4 plays in repertory to 17 plays in Australia, England, New Zealand, and the USA (California, Nevada, and Alaska). He has presented panels for TCG – Theatre Communications Group, ASSITEJ/USA International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People, American Theatre Association, Theatre Bay Area, AATE – American Alliance for Theatre & Education, and the National Chamber of Commerce Association. Most recently Clayton was producing, directing and teaching for Simply Theater Geneva (Switzerland’s premier English speaking performing arts training school with more than 700 students attending weekly programs throughout Switzerland).
Since moving to Switzerland 5 years ago, he has also presented workshops for Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum ; opened a new Performing Arts program in Zurich; participated in the planning of the 20th anniversary of President Gorbachev’s founding of Green Cross International at the UN ; starred in the French/Swiss film The Bakery ; and most recently assisted apelab (a Swiss studio focusing on the future of interactive entertainment adapted to today’s digital media and devices), which has led to creating the World VR Forum, Switzerland.
