VR : A THEATRICAL MEDIUM
We are in very signifiant times for the art of storytelling. Technological advancements have, unlike in previous iterations, allowed Virtual Reality and 360 films to be possible for the mass market. However, with the tech having played its pivotal role, to really advance the discipline we need to pay as much attention, if not more, to storytelling.
Toby will talk about the work of the National Theatre in London. Looking at their VR adaptation of wonder.land, a digital reinterpretation of Alice in Wonderland performed on the NT’s biggest stage, and talking about future 360 film projects Toby will discuss the relevance of theatre to this new age of storytelling.
