Pro Helvetia is supporting the first World VR Forum which will be held in Crans-Montana from the 6th to the 8th of May 2016. The WVRF’s objective is to promote the multi-dimensional character of virtual reality and augmented reality through art, science, and education.
With its first edition, the WVRF bets on bringing leaders of the VR and AR industry to the alpine resort in order to discuss the impact of these new media on society, as well as present their latest works to a professional and general audience.
The challenges of the industry will be addressed during these three days by a panel of 40 international experts from culture, academia, and industry including Nicolas Henchoz, founder and director of EPFL+ECAL Lab, Arnaud Colinart, producer at AGAT Films & Cie / EX NIHILO, Bruce Cymatic, head of developer and community relations at AltspaceVR, andEmilie Joly and Stéphane Intissar respectively CEO of apelab and of OZWE Gamesstudio. The forum will be moderated by Michel Reilhac, VR director and producer and director of ARTE cinema from 2002 to 2012. VIENS! his latest VR short-movie has been selected as the opening film of the WVRF.
In parallel to the forum, the immersive VR festival will invite the public to try and experience a selection of projects and prototypes. Equipped with various VR displays, the public will be fully immersed in the world of Birdly, Anshar Wars 2, Sequenced, and much more.
