The National Museum of Singapore (NMS) presented Digital Conversations, a series of talks in tandem with the museum’s new Digital Programme. Digital Conversations: Virtual Reality was a parallel event of The Virtual Reality Showcase at the National Museum of Singapore from 7 to 10 December 2017.

The talks looked into the different discourses pertaining to digital, technology and culture, as well as the changes that digital and technology have impacted in all industries. The inaugural session touched on the topic of Virtual Reality and was open to professionals from the culture, heritage, arts and technology sectors.

Digital Conversations VR at the National Museum of Singapore, one of the oldest buildings in Singapore and the museum shows how advanced and cutting edge it remains because of their everlasting interest in digital technologies. DEF created a new programme called DIGIMuse and that event was part of it. It was a one day event with diverse speakers, on one hand with conferences and lectures and on the other there was a VR exhibition. Salar Shahna, WVRF’s CEO gave the first speech, sharing a very large perspective on all the possibilities that VR offers and also how VR embeds in the museum space, how museums and art world can work with VR. Shahna gave a special focus on this topic.

Digital Conversations VR were very stimulating with participants that came from all over the world: Europe, Netherlands, France, from the southeast Asia region, and Denmark.
